In popular folklore, the Werwulf is a human being that under certain circumstances turns into a wild animal, usually a predator. According to some beliefs, the first of these creatures was a wizard who used an animal skin and spells to change into the same animal shape. According to other sources, the first Wervulf was the victim of a curse who, because of crimes against Nature or for showing extreme ferocity, was transformed into a murderous beast.

Anyone who awakens as a Werwulf associates a short-tempered and violent personality with the ability to transform into an animal form, usually a predator. Although these individuals are not necessarily evil, their strength and ferocity are legendary.


A Werwulf, to the second sight, looks like a hybrid between a human and a beast, complete with claws, fangs and fur. The degree of hybridization depends greatly on individual preferences. Some look like very hairy humans with fangs and claws, while others look like monstrous bipedal beasts.
